đ¨ Your Nervous System is Crying for HelpâAre You Listening?

Have you ever noticed that the second you finally take a breakâwhether itâs a holiday, a long weekend, or even just a day offâyour body seems to completely shut down?
The sniffles start, the exhaustion hits, and instead of soaking up the rest you desperately needed, youâre stuck feeling worse than ever.
Â
I know this feeling all too well. For years, I pushed myself to the limitâalways running on stress, caffeine (hello 7 cups of tea a day đ ), and sheer willpower as a teacher.
And every time the holidays approached and I let myself breathe? My body collapsed.
At first, I thought it was just bad luck... No matter whether I stayed at home to get some marking done or had a bougie tropical holiday booked, I was always sick for the first few days đŤŁ
Â
But the truth? My nervous system was completely shot.
Â
And if youâre feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and stuck in a cycle of stress, burnout, and âpushing through,â your nervous system is likely crying out for help, too.
Â
Hereâs whatâs really happening:
Your body has been running on stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline for weeks, months, maybe even years. Itâs like a car stuck in overdriveâeventually, it burns out. When you finally slow down, your body isnât used to functioning without that stress fuel, so it crashes. Thatâs why you feel drained, unmotivated, or even sick.
Â
Scientifically speaking, chronic stress keeps your sympathetic nervous system (SNS) in overdrive, flooding your system with cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones were meant for short-term survivalâlike running from lions, tigers, and bearsâbut the stress of modern life keeps them activated constantly. Over time, this leads to HPA axis dysregulation, where your brain and adrenal glands struggle to regulate stress responses properly.
Â
This disrupts your hormonal balance, weakens your immune system, slows digestion, and even impacts your ability to think clearly. Itâs why you might feel anxious, tired but wired, emotionally reactive, or physically unwell, even when you think you're "handling it".
Â
And hereâs the hard truth:Â If you donât address this now, it wonât just go away...
Â
There's so much more to our bodies than what our current Western medical practitioners would have us believe. Our bodies are not machines and we cannot just isolate one broken part, treat it or remove it, and then hope for the best. Our bodies are run on energy with their own innate intelligence and when that energy is not able to flow freely throughout as it should, the consequences are felt on a mind, body and soul level.
Â
It's why that niggling issue hasn't been resolved by 4 rounds of antibiotics, and it's why the birth control pill hasn't actually fixed your hormonal issues (it's just masked them), and it's why the doctors have no answers for women when we ask for help because something just doesn't feel right.
Â
Our thoughts create emotions, and our emotions are the energy moving around our bodies: if you know how to safely process that energy and return to a state of flow and homeostasis then you can continue your day without letting external forces stress you out... and I guarantee you won't get sick every time to you holiday, because you understand the importance of taking time to rest and recover your energy regularly.
Â
But if, like me, you grew up in a society which told you not to feel your feelings... then your mind is already living in a state of stress trying to decide between pleasing yourself or pleasing others, let alone the environmental stress that you then feel from your work, kids, and just trying to pay the bills.
Â
So you shove the stress and the suppressed emotions down into your body for 'later, when you have to think and deal with it'... like when you finally slow down for your holidays, or unfortunately, for many women it builds and it worsens, until one day, their bodies will force them to stop with debilitating illness.
Â
But it doesnât have to get to that point.
Â
Instead, imagine waking up every day feeling:
â Energised, waking up refreshed and excited for the day ahead
â Deeply calm and grounded, no longer at the mercy of stress and anxiety
â Strong, balanced, and confident in your bodyâs ability to support you
â Effortlessly magnetic, attracting better opportunities, relationships, and joy
â Completely aligned with a life that lights you up instead of draining you
Â
This is exactly what I help women do in my 1:1 Coaching, where we use deep nervous system regulation and embodiment practices to break free from survival mode for good.
Â
I've perfected the art of nervous system regulation and embodiment practices so now I can clock exactly what my body and mind need at any given moment. It's why I took myself to the beach and turned my phone off for a few days so I could completely sign out from my business and do what I needed to get back to myself and my own energy.
Â
It gets to be easy and fun when you have the right tools and knowledge âď¸đ
