I spent years checking all the boxes, perfect career, endless commitments, golden accomplishments, while feeling hollow inside. A high school teacher constantly striving, giving more, smiling through exhaustion, hovering between who I thought I needed to be and who I hadn't yet allowed myself to become.
Until grief shattered everything and whispered a question:
