FREE meditation & why you should frolic more often

Good morning beautiful people đŸŒŒ

Whether you're celebrating the middle of Winter, or the middle of Summer, July is an important month on the calendar: it signifies the middle of the year, and the start of Quarter Three. It's a chance to really drop in and reflect on how your 2024 is shaping up and to make some changes if you feel like you aren't quite where you want to be.

Personally, it's a chance to check in on the goals I set myself at the beginning of the year and to assess where I'm at with them. I've made great progress, but I've also noticed that I have a tendency to put things off or to ignore them completely if I lose interest because they're not quite going the way I want them to đŸ«

It's also a chance to reflect on what I'd like to see in the second half of my year... I feel like a completely different person from who I was in January when I wrote those original goals and so I'll be shifting some of them around in order to make them reflect my new knowledge and learnings more accurately.

And you may very well be one of those people sitting there thinking well I didn't set any goals and I don't believe in them, or having goals only stresses me out. I want to make the following analogy for you so that you understand the importance of goal-setting:

Without having an end in mind, how will you ever know you've arrived? If you were undertaking a journey in a car, and you just started driving without knowing where you wanted to end up, how will you ever know when you get there? Or would you just continue to drive around aimlessly, wondering why you were stuck on the highway, fast-tracking your journey but not really seeing or achieving anything? 🚙

Similarly, it’s important to know where you’re going, but it’s just as important to know where you’re coming from. Like a GPS, your directions are only going to work if you know where you’re starting out from... that is where you are RIGHT NOW. đŸ—ș

It might be uncomfortable to look at your life right now and assess it according to where you are today. You might be tempted to reflect on it according to where you WANT to be, but that lie won't serve you. đŸ“Č

The first step to taking action on your journey more fulfilment, joy, and success in life, is to acknowledge and take responsibility for where you are RIGHT NOW. Get brutally honest with yourself so you can start creating the change that you desire.

Which brings me to #vanlife as an example. It seems like it would be a fantastic idea to drive with no real destination in mind, to explore the roads untravelled, to find the unsung heroes and local gems... but the reality is that it becomes quite stressful and I end up not really enjoying myself because I have so many variables to consider and worry about in the meantime. What I have found to work best, is to have a loose guide of which area of the country I'd like to be in for which month, and then on a micro level, an informed and researched idea of where I'm travelling to in the next 4-5 days.

This means that In the next month I'll be heading West and spending some time in the Northern Territory, and I have a bit of itinerary of what I'd like to see in the next few days, grouped by location for ease of travel, before I leave Far North Queensland.

This allows me to plan where I'm staying, how much water I'll need and where to fill up, where the toilets and showers are (for obvious reasons), and to make sure that I'm actually seeing everything I want to see before leaving the area! If I was to just drive around aimlessly, hoping to spot some signs for great attractions and sites, how likely is it that I'd actually tick off all of the sites on my bucket list? I'd probably be stuck on the highway, driving around in the dark stressed and anxious about finding a safe and level place to park for the night, that also had enough internet for work and for my client calls.

One of the big goals for this quarter is to embrace a spirit of play in what I'm doing. I've been stuck on the admin side of the business for a little while now, and while I love organisation, that's actually not where my creative genius lies: it's in the creating and the serving of my clients. So this next quarter is going to have a lot of more creativity and freedom as I try to streamline my business and my schedule so I have more time to explore and play with my next projects.

I'm deep in the creation of a 12 week mindset program aimed at providing you with all the tools and knowledge you never learnt in school about your own brain. It will help you release old habits and beliefs about yourself, and find the joy in life again with the tools that you can use over and over anytime that you start to feel 'stuck'.

I spent some time last night recording client meditations and a hypnotherapy, and it genuinely lit me up and bought me so much joy that I'd forgotten how much I loved doing them. Those will be high on my priority schedule for this quarter... and if you'd like to experience a short meditation for yourself, shoot me a reply email or a DM on Instagram and I'll send it through for you for free! It's under 8 minutes and is a Daily Protection Prayer- designed to help you nurture and protect your own energy, while building a shield around you from other people's bad juju. You know when you can feel that somebody is in a bad mood before they even open up their mouth? That's your intuition, and if you don't take the steps to protect yourself it can rub off on you and affect you for the rest of the day as well... whether that person is your boss, a friend, or even your toddler.

I use this prayer every day before I start working with clients just to ensure that their issues and energies aren't going to influence mine... it's particularly important when working or dealing with a lot of people and something I really wish I'd had access to as a teacher. Sometimes I'd walk into the staffroom in a chipper mood and immediately feel everyone else's Week 5 depression, or into the classroom and one girls' melodramatic relationship woes would derail the entire lesson as she sobbed gently on top of her desk. Whatever industry you're in, or your home situation, I can comfortably bet that you've been affected and influenced by another's bad mood before.

The last thing I want to impress upon you is this: stop holding on so tightly to everything. This could be your relationship, your goals, your work projects, your tightly structured routine, your outfit, your diet, your exercise regime... when we let go and invite in some space and some room for movement, we actually have the capacity to enjoy it with more ease.

Know accurately where you are right now, put in place a plan of action with an end goal so you have a direction to work towards, but then make sure you enjoy the journey along the way!

Last week it looked like stopping over in Palm Cove for the night and staying a couple days instead of moving on after 2 hours like I'd originally planned... I just loved it so much there and found it was a really great opportunity to sit on the beach in the sun and read some Colleen Hoover for the day. I spoke to two good friends on the phone and caught up with them, and walked along the edge of the water and enjoyed myself. This is where the magic drops in... the moments where we can stop, look around, and enjoy the current moment, knowing that we have a solid plan in place to return to when we're ready and recharged.

Without the plan, I would have been stressing about all the other destinations I'd miss out on, or I'd run out of time for, or that I had work commitments or other issues to attend to. Instead, I was able to relax and dance in the waves and enjoy the afternoon in the sun, because everything else was taken care of.

My calendar is tightly scheduled every morning from 5:55am when I wake up, until about 12pm because I know that when I have a structure in place I can achieve everything I need to, and take the afternoon off to relax and be in the moment. And when I follow this, there is room to move a day of work, and take the whole day for exploring like I'll be doing tomorrow when I head out to chase down some more waterfalls.

I've created this lifestyle very intentionally because it was what my heart was calling out for: time to work on my business and help other women, and time to actually enjoy this life while I can.

My call to action for you today, is to reply email with a YES PLEASE for the Daily Protection Prayer so I can send it to you, and to also take some time to sit and reflect on what you'd like to achieve or call in more of for the next quarter, or half-year, and then put in place a plan of action and a structure to achieve it.

If this seems really daunting for you, or you can't think of a single thing that seems realistically achievable, then please let me know and I can do a free brainstorming session with you so you can see how to create space for your dreams, and what you're really capable of. I'm the best hype girl out there, because I know that once you strip away everybody else's opinions then you can achieve anything you set your mind to! I mean, look at what I've achieved by following this exact process: travelling around Australia solo in a van with my own business at 31 years of age 😍

Anything is possible: you just need to find somebody who can teach you how, and I know I'm one of the best damn teachers out there.

Remember: reply with YES PLEASE and I'll send you the Daily Protection Prayer.

Lots of love and happy goal-setting,

Haley đŸ€
