home sweet home

Hello, Hello!
I have just spent the morning really luxuriating in the feel of a full bed, clean shower, and even full sized kitchen to make my morning smoothie... it really is the little things in life, ya know? If you missed my email last week, then you're probably confused. No, I haven't abandoned Sandy the Sprinter. But I am parking her in the driveway of a house-sit for a couple weeks in Darwin.
Not worrying about emptying water tanks, or power consumption is something that most people take for granted. If nothing else in this email gets you today... I want to take a moment, hand over heart, deep inhale in through your nose, and feel that fresh oxygen filling your lungs. As you inhale, imagine breathing in gratitude and love for something small today. Hold that feeling and that breath for a count of five, and then when you release, exhale it out of your mouth while giving thanks.
Gratitude is such a powerful emotion, and it's so easy to forget how many wonderful things we have going on in our lives. I was sent a beautiful little clip on Instagram this morning and I want to summarise the main message here for you quickly: We notice the bad things in life so easily, because the good things are everywhere. After awhile, we stop noticing the good things and we take them for granted, but the bad things jump out at us and we choose to focus our time and energy on those instead, amplifying them even more.
It struck me mid-shower this morning that every single drop of that water is so precious and life-giving. And we just turn the tap on and expect it to pour out without ever really noticing it. Kind of like the days in our lives... we just expect to wake up again tomorrow morning and have the day flow through us without pausing to really understand that each drop of water, each minute of your day, is one part of the whole. An individual drop, or minute doesn't seem like much at the time. But they accumulate and make up the whole of the experience. You can't have one without the other... and the sum of those minutes eventually makes up the totality of your day. It's not until you run into an issue that you notice how powerful those little components really are; you're not guaranteed an everlasting supply of water, and you're not guaranteed an everlasting supply of minutes.
How would you choose to spend yours if you weren't sure that you'd get that experience again? Another shower, or another morning wake up? Infuse everything you do with wonder and gratitude and start to feel how that energy shifts your entire perspective on life.
I spent the last few days out exploring Kakadu National Park this weekend. But I'll be honest, once I learned that the best spots like Jim Jim and Twin Falls were only accessible by 4WD, I kind of wasn't expecting very much. I thought maybe there would be some cool Indigenous artworks to check out, and the crocodile watching at Cahill's Crossing was supposed to be fun, but that it would probably be just a lot of dry scrubby desert country... but man, was I wrong. Even without the waterfalls or the swimming holes, I fell in love. From the sunrise cruise at Yellow Water Billabong, to the sunset over the wetlands at Ubirr Lookout, and then the art and Savannah views from Yourlangie. It was spectacular. Every second of it.
Personal highlights are down below, but suffice it to say: sometimes the most beautiful moments happen when we're not expecting them.
I'm going to keep this email short and sweet this week. I am diving back into a bit more of a routine for myself and I know I'm going to soak up every single moment of it. I have two little dogs here that love to snuggle and I've even enrolled in a special two week pack of yoga classes so I'm going to enjoy the experience of trying new styles of yoga and meeting some new people.
I invite you to see where you could also re-evaluate an area of your life that isn't serving you at the moment. Take a second to really think about something that you'd like to try and change and commit to just one week of a new action. Maybe you're adding something to your life like a yoga class, or maybe you're subtracting something like screen time, and you're going to place your phone on the bench instead of carrying it with you around the house.
For me, I really want to fall back in love with my journalling and taking time to meditate each day. I've noticed a habit of always needing to be busy, and it's something that I'm consciously drawing my attention to this week so I can correct it gently and without judgement... I want to enjoy every single moment of my life instead of rushing through it and always thinking three steps ahead to the next task.
I also still have one full week and veryyy limited spots available for the discounted price on my 1:1 Life coaching package 'F*ck-it Mastery'. If anything I have ever said resonates with you, if you're feeling drawn towards finding out more about yourself and reprogramming your subconscious mind for more happiness, if you're open to exploring new possibilities for your future, if you're in the middle of your own f*ck-it moment and you know you need to be the one to create change... I would love to help you. If you aren't sure how it works or what that would look like, I'm happy to jump on a free (no obligations!) call to describe what my process is like and how it works... plus you'll get your first little taste of coaching for free ☺️
Enjoy some gratitude and the joy of accomplishing something new this week ✨

A little round-up of my favourite and not so favourite moments this week:
INS ✨
Book: The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Has taken me a few months to get through to audio book, but it is so powerful and I keep coming back to it when I need a reminder to live in the moment.
Ubirr Lookout at Kakadu National Park: Some beautiful Indigenous painting on the rock faces, a short hike and climb through scrubby country to the lookout... and then when you reach the top of the Sandstone escarpment, the view opens up over the most lush and majestic savannah wetlands. It was a real Pride Rock moment from the Lion King. I was properly awed.
Yoga classes: There's just something about taking an in-person class that hits differently. I love the ease of an online morning class at home, but every now and again it is so nice to change it up and experience something new and fresh with the energy of other people around you.
OUTS 💥
Badly needing to see my good friend and Osteopath... who lives in Tamworth which is a bit of a drive for some body work 😅 The Darwin Osteo's are completely booked too, which doesn't bode well for my poor old 'drivers seat' back haha
Mozzies at Merl Campground Kakadu: they were only tolerable because I made sure I was safely tucked away inside the van before dark... but I could hear them buzzing against the flyscreen all night and the skin still took a few hits.
Worrying obsessively: sometimes we get into a pattern of thinking and it's bloody hard to recognise it and get ourselves out of it, even if we are emotionally intelligent and aware of it 😳 So thankful for my coaches and all the work I've done over the years to identify when I'm starting to feel anxious about the future and to control every moment. If you're here right now, I'm sending you love 🤍
